RING SERVER:CAN'T SUBMIT YOUR SITE?Often the web ring program gives erroneous error messages or refuses information when individuals are signing up for the ring. For reasons unknown, usually AOL users have the most frequent problems when attempting to add their sites to the Queue. The main web ring's favorite error message is that your page doesn't exist (and you know it does!) MAKE SURE that the URL you submitted has the full path to your web site. This means the whole ball of wax: including http:// and the www. If you did not include that the first time, please correct it and press "submit" again. If you look below the error message there should be a button that says "submit site anyway". HIT IT! Tell it who's Boss! If it still doesn't allow you to add your site to the queue, please email the Ringmaster. The second favorite error message is when you try to submit your site the webring server is so slow that it times out or says "--webring--url not found". Best bet is to try again at a later time.If you are repeatedly unable to add your site, please contact the Ringmaster and provide the identical information asked for on the form and he will add you.RING PROBLEMS:The main web ring program that controls all web rings (there are literally thousands of different web rings) is located at: http://www.ringsurf.com.Periodically the web ring server may be down, as with any internet service. When this happens every web ring ceases to function. Sometimes new queue additions are not possible. Sometimes email is not forwarded. When the web ring server is down the Ringmasters cannot access your information or add sites. This is beyond the control of the Ringmasters. Please bear with us! It's frustrating and inconvenient but we can't do anything about it from our end. |
